Baptism

The story of Jesus mentions that he was baptized in a river by some strange character wearing camel hair and chewing on locusts. Because of this, we choose to gather around as one mosaic of believers and baptize each other in the river just as we think Jesus might have.

It is one of the most profound gatherings to witness. All people, young and old, couples, families, and singles have made the choice to step into the water.

A young girl named Niya was one of those people. When she stepped into the water she had a piece of paper in a plastic bag that read:

"August 16,2008. Niya. I became a Christian when I was five at VBS. Being a Christian means a lot to me and God lives in my heart. I want to be baptized so that I can show people that I am a Christian. It is a symbol of God's blood washing me clean. I want to trust the Lord and worship Him."

We baptize because we believe that God's blood has "washed" us clean, and somehow even the little children can rejoice in that.

Our Baptism Celebration will be held Saturday, August 22 at 3:00p at Triple R Ranch.
